Join us at NAMM Booth 16116 – ACC North for two live DAW Controller demonstrations featuring respected iCON Pro Audio users Nate Mars and Wendel Patrick. Both producers work primarily in Ableton Live, and these sessions will focus on how they use the iCON’s new custom Ableton Live script and the iCON V1-M and V1-X improve real-world studio workflows.
This is about how it feels to work.
Modern DAWs are powerful, but creativity can stall when everything lives on a screen. The iCON V1-M and V1-X bring physical faders, knobs, and transport control back into the process helping producers make faster decisions and stay connected to the music.
At NAMM 2026, these demos highlight:
Faster, more intuitive studio workflows
More musical approaches to mixing and automation
Reduced screen fatigue and improved focus
Whether you’re producing tracks, shaping arrangements, or finishing mixes, the V1-series is designed to feel like a natural extension of your studio.
Nate Mars is a producer, sound designer, and music technologist known for his acid-infused sound rooted in jungle, drum & bass, and ’90s rave culture. While Nate is known for high-energy performances, his NAMM 2026 demonstration zooms in on studio production and decision-making.
His recent In Time EP, featuring remixes by Liondub, Starkey (Ninja Tune), and Tim Reaper (Future Retro London), has earned support from BBC Radio One, Dancing Astronaut, YourEDM, and more. With experience in music education and technology at Dubspot and Splice, Nate brings a practical, producer-first perspective.
In this session, Nate will show how he uses the iCON V1-M and V1-X to:
Build and refine tracks with speed and clarity
Control levels, plugins, and automation without breaking flow
Stay creative during long studio sessions
It’s a grounded look at how hands-on control supports better production outcomes.
Wendel Patrick is a classical and jazz pianist, DJ, and hip-hop producer whose work spans composition, beatmaking, and large-scale productions. His approach blends deep musicality with modern production techniques.
Wendel is Director of Hip Hop Studies and Associate Professor of Music Engineering & Technology at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, and host of Artworks on Maryland Public Television.
At NAMM, Wendel’s demonstration focuses on creativity and mixing, showing how the V1-M and V1-X support:
Musical balance, depth, and dynamics
More intuitive mixing decisions
Staying emotionally connected to the music during the mix process
Rather than complex setups, Wendel highlights how simple, reliable tactile control can elevate both creativity and mix translation.
These sessions are designed for:
Music producers and beatmakers
In-the-box mixing engineers
Educators and students
Artists looking for faster, more musical workflows
If you want your DAW to feel less like software and more like an instrument, these demos are for you.
